Influence can be defined as the ability to create an impact on the beliefs and actions of an individual. Influence evokes respect. Unlike 'power', influence contains such a magic that those under the influence keep working in the desired manner even in the absence of the influential person. Influence is a desirable trait in any leader. Power can be a compelling force on or produce effects on the actions, behavior, and opinions of others and can be derived from influence.
Circle of Influence
Social influence occurs when a person's emotions, opinions, or behaviors are affected by others. Social influence takes many forms and can be seen in conformity, socialization, peer pressure, obedience, leadership, persuasion, sales, and marketing.
The ability of one partner in a relationship to directly influence the quality of outcomes (i.e., the amount of rewards vs. costs) that can be obtained by the other partner in a given situation
